Every lockout feels the same for the first minute, but the fix depends on what you are locked out of. Pick the one that matches below, or just text us your ZIP and a photo and we will sort it out for you. Day, night or holiday, someone answers.
Shut out of your house, condo or apartment? That is our house lockout page, and it covers the common snags like a door locked from the inside or a deadbolt that was thrown by a guest. Keys sitting on the seat of your car, or a fob that died in a parking lot? Go to car lockouts. A pickup, box truck, work van or semi cab is a truck lockout, since those trucks often carry tools or a load and the timing matters more.
If it is a store, office or warehouse that will not open before your staff arrives, that is a commercial lockout. Landlords who need locks changed after the sheriff has done an eviction have their own page. And if the key went in but came out in two pieces, see broken key extraction, because opening the door is only half of that job.
Send your ZIP code and a quick photo of the lock or the key, or call if your hands are full. We reply with a price and an honest arrival time. Nothing moves until you say go. If you find the spare while we are on the way, tell us and we turn around, no hard feelings.
When the tech arrives, they confirm you have the right to be let in. For a home that usually means an ID with the address, a lease or a piece of mail. For a car, the registration or title once the door is open. It takes a minute and it protects you as much as anyone.
Our first aim is always a damage-free entry, and most locks allow it. A few do not: certain high-security cylinders, locks that have already failed, or doors that were damaged before we got there. In that case the tech explains why, gives you the price for drilling and a replacement, and waits for your answer. You will never find out about it from the receipt.
A lot of lockouts come from lost keys, and a lost key is a security question too. If your keys could be in someone else's pocket, ask about a rekey before we leave. Our truck is stocked, so we can usually rekey or swap the lock on the same visit and hand you fresh keys.
Yes. We run around the clock, holidays included. Late night is actually when most lockouts happen, after a shift, a dinner out or a flight home. Text or call (657) 478-8248 and you will get a real person with a price and an arrival time.
It depends. A tenant with a lease or mail at the address is fine. A guest or a relative usually needs the owner on the phone or present. We are strict about this on purpose, because the next person asking to get in could be asking about your door.
Not without your say. The price you agree to by text is the price for the job you described. If the lock turns out to be something different, the tech tells you before doing anything and you decide whether to go ahead.
Call 911 if a child, a pet or anyone vulnerable is locked inside a car or a home, or if there is a stove or anything else running inside. Emergency services come first. For an ordinary lockout, a licensed locksmith is the right call.
