Venice has homes you cannot drive up to. If yours is on a walk street or the canals, tell us, and we will park close and walk the tools in.
Venice is a patchwork. The canals have homes that face water and footpaths instead of streets. The walk streets near the beach are lined with small bungalows reached only on foot. Oakwood has older houses and apartments, Abbot Kinney Boulevard is full of shops and cafes, and around Rose Avenue and Lincoln Boulevard you find lofts, offices and newer rebuilds. On the boardwalk, small businesses roll their gates up every morning. Parking is hard almost everywhere, and on busy weekends the beach crowd fills every block. We plan for that, so a canal or walk street job just takes a few extra minutes on foot.
You will find two ages of hardware on the same street here. A 1920s bungalow may still have its original mortise lock with a skeleton-style key, while the rebuilt house next door has a keypad and a smart lock from day one. The old ones need service and careful parts matching; the new ones need resetting when someone moves out. Salt air makes everything worse, especially doors facing the water, so sticky cylinders are common. Shops on Abbot Kinney and the boardwalk mostly have glass storefront doors and back doors onto alleys, and they want those keyed together.
Venice is about 14.2 miles from Van Nuys, so plan on 35–60 minutes. Traffic on the 405 or over the canyons can stretch it, and the honest ETA comes with the price. Text (657) 478-8248 a photo of the lock and tell us if your place is on a walk street or the canals, so we know where to park.
Yes. We park as close as we can and carry what we need to your door. Text us the nearest drivable cross street so we head to the right spot. It may add a few minutes, which we include in the ETA we give you.
Often it can. We open the lock, clean it, replace worn parts if we can find them and rekey it to a new key. If parts are not available, we will tell you, and we can fit a modern lock that keeps the door looking right.
In most cases, yes. We rekey both cylinders to the same key, or fit matching cylinders if the existing ones cannot share a key. You can also have separate keys for staff if you prefer.
