NoHo has changed fast: new apartment buildings by the Metro station, small theaters on Magnolia and Lankershim, and the same old bungalows a few blocks over. We work on all of it, and we are a short drive away.
The center of North Hollywood is the Arts District around Lankershim and Magnolia, where small theaters, rehearsal spaces, cafes and studios share the blocks. The Metro station at the end of the B Line pulls in commuters, and around it new mid-rise apartment buildings have gone up with parking garages underneath. Walk a few blocks in any direction and you are back among 1920s to 1950s bungalows, courtyard apartments and small stucco houses. Laurel Canyon, Vineland and Victory carry auto shops, markets and small offices. It is a mix of brand-new buildings and very old ones, sometimes on the same street.
In the new buildings, the lobby and garage often run on fobs managed by the property. Unit doors usually carry a standard lever and deadbolt, and those we can rekey or replace. The older bungalows and courts still have plenty of original locks, some loose in soft wood, some with keys that barely turn. Theaters and venues need exit doors that open from inside with one push, so panic bars and their upkeep come up often. Shops on Lankershim and Magnolia use glass storefront doors whose cylinders wear out from daily use. For businesses, we can usually rekey without replacing the whole door hardware.
North Hollywood is around 20–35 minutes from us in Van Nuys. Text your ZIP code, a photo of the lock or key, and the building name if there is a garage or gate code we need. If you are near the Metro station or in a park-and-ride lot, tell us which one.
Yes. We repair and replace panic bars on exit doors, and check that the door closes and latches properly afterward. An exit that will not open easily is a safety problem, so we treat it as urgent. Text a photo of the bar and the door edge, and we will quote it.
Not always. Many older locks can be rekeyed so old keys stop working. If a deadbolt wobbles, the bolt barely reaches the frame, or the key sticks, replacing it makes sense. We look at it on site and explain what we see, and you decide before any work starts.
Yes. We cut copies on site for most house, mailbox and padlock keys, so the whole household can get keys at once. If some of your keys are hard to copy because of the brand, we will tell you up front. Text a photo of the key and how many you need.
