Hollywood does not close at five, and neither do we. Locked out of an apartment at midnight, a car after the show, or a bar that will not lock at 2 am: text us and we come over the hill.
Hollywood is dense and old. The flats between Franklin and Melrose are packed with 1920s and 1930s courtyard apartments, Spanish bungalows and newer mid-rise buildings, most of them rentals. Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards carry restaurants, bars, clubs, studios, offices and souvenir shops, open late and busy all week. North of Franklin, the Hollywood Hills climb in tight switchbacks through Beachwood Canyon and the streets off Cahuenga, with homes stacked on narrow roads where parking is close to impossible. Lots of people, lots of doors, and lockouts at every hour.
Older apartment buildings here still have original doors with mortise locks, rim locks and add-on deadbolts, sometimes three locks on one door from three different tenants. We rekey or replace them so the keys make sense again. Storefronts use narrow aluminum doors with their own cylinders, and restaurants and bars have steel back doors with panic bars that take a lot of slamming. In the hills, owners often switch to smart locks so guests and cleaners do not need keys. Car lockouts are common everywhere, especially near the venues late at night.
Hollywood is about 10 miles from Van Nuys through the Cahuenga Pass, so 25–45 minutes. Text (657) 478-8248 with your ZIP, a photo of the lock or car, and exactly where you are. In the hills, tell us where we can park. We confirm the price and the ETA first.
Check your lease first. Many require you to tell the landlord and give them a copy of the new key. We do the work, give you a written receipt, and can cut the extra key for the landlord on the spot so everything stays above board.
Yes, 24/7. Send a photo of the door and the panic bar or lock. Usually the latch, the strike or the closer is out of line. We fix it so you can lock up, and price any parts before we replace them.
Tell us in your text: a driveway, a wider spot nearby, or where neighbors usually pull in. A pin and a photo of the house help. It saves us circling the switchbacks and gets us to your door faster.
