Glendale has some of the oldest doors we work on and some of the newest. A 1920s house in Rossmoyne and a condo tower off Brand need very different care, and we bring the right parts for both.
Downtown Glendale is built around Brand Boulevard, with the Americana at Brand and the Galleria anchoring a strip of shops, restaurants and newer condo and apartment towers. Around it, older neighborhoods spread out: Rossmoyne and the streets below the Verdugo hills are full of 1920s and 1930s Spanish and Tudor style homes. Adams Hill, Chevy Chase Canyon and the Verdugo Woodlands have winding hillside streets and bigger lots. South Glendale is denser, with apartment buildings and small commercial strips along Glendale Avenue and Colorado. The 134, the 2 and the 5 bring us in from the Valley side.
The older homes here often have heavy wooden doors with original mortise locks or rim locks. Those are usually worth keeping, and many can be repaired or rekeyed instead of replaced, which protects the look of the door. Downtown towers have building fobs for the lobby and garage, while your unit door has a regular lock we can rekey or swap. Shops along Brand and Central use glass storefront doors with cylinders that wear from constant traffic. Many Glendale drivers have newer cars with smart keys, and we can program replacement fobs on site for most makes without sending you to the dealer.
Glendale is a bit farther for us, usually 25–45 minutes depending on the 134. We give you the honest number when you text. Send your ZIP code, a photo of the lock or key, and whether it is a house, a condo or a business. For the hills, include any gate code or parking notes.
Often yes. Older mortise and rim locks were built to last, and many can be cleaned, repaired or rekeyed. If parts are worn beyond repair, we will show you the options, including modern locks that fit the same opening. Text a photo of both sides of the lock to start.
Yes. We rekey your unit door and deadbolt so old keys stop working, and we can do your mailbox too. The lobby and garage fobs are run by the building, so those go through management. Let us know about guest parking when you text.
Yes. For most makes we can program a new fob or reprogram one you have, right where the car is parked. Sometimes the fix is just a battery, and we will tell you if that is the case. Text the year, make and model and a photo of the fob.
